Just 15 km outside Kimberley, Mein Heim Guest Farm offers the kind of peace that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Surrounded by open Northern Cape landscapes, it is close enough to the city for convenience, yet far enough away to enjoy quiet evenings, fresh air and an unhurried farm atmosphere.

Hennie and Christine Spangenberg purchased the farm at the end of 2012, fulfilling their dream of owning a special piece of the Northern Cape. Since then, they have created a welcoming guest farm where comfort, personal hospitality and the simplicity of farm life come together.

Mein Heim offers five comfortable, air-conditioned self-catering units for business travellers, couples and families. Every unit is designed to give guests a private and relaxing place to rest, whether they are staying for one night, travelling for work or enjoying a family breakaway.

The farm operates with solar power and borehole water, allowing guests to enjoy greater independence from municipal interruptions while supporting a more sustainable way of living.

Although the units are self-catering, guests do not always have to cook. Home-cooked meals and breakfast can be arranged in advance, adding an extra touch of comfort and convenience to your stay.

Mein Heim is a genuine working farm, home to sheep, cattle, chickens and horses. Depending on the season and the day’s farm activities, guests may have the opportunity to collect fresh eggs, feed a calf or bottle-fed lamb, or simply enjoy watching farm life unfold around them.

The property was previously home to a warmblood horse stud and still offers excellent equestrian facilities, including spacious stables, well-maintained arenas and open veld for outrides.

Wildlife is also part of the Mein Heim experience. Springbok, gemsbok, steenbok and duiker can often be spotted across the veld, while bat-eared foxes, aardvarks and a variety of birdlife share the surrounding landscape.
